JJC In-House Proficiency Exams
In-house proficiency exams are JJC-administered exams to be completed for college-level credit by demonstrating previous subject knowledge. Exams may be verbal, written, or require a demonstration of skills. These exams are offered for select courses only. Please reference the chart below to view the list of available courses and departmental contacts to get started,
JJC in-house proficiency exams have a fee of $12 per credit hour.

In-House Proficiency Approval Process
- Students reach out to the departmental contact from the chart below to get started. The departmental contact will evaluate students to determine if they qualify for the exam, and if so, schedule the exam.
- Any applicable credit will be awarded to the student's record within 30 days after successfully passing the exam.
- Students can view the awarded proficiency credit on the Student Planning Module after 30 days.
