Run by faculty and students, the Greenhouse is home to a diverse array of plants. Many of these annual and perennial crops are for sale throughout the year.
The Herbert Trackman Planetarium offers shows for adults and children, typically hosted on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Thanks to the new OmniStar Digital planetarium projector, JJC can offer audiences a more detailed, in-depth experience.
In addition to housing a collection of fiction books, the JJC Library is a student and community resource that can help patrons with research. Public computers and study rooms are available. The Library also organizes the JJC Archive.
Hosting several shows and receptions each year, the Laura A. Sprague Art Gallery features work of local and visiting artists, in addition to students. This 2,055 square foot space gives our community and students a chance to view contemporary work close to home.
The MakerLab is a community resource that offers 3D printers, 3D scanners and laser cutters. This state-of-the art equipment will take your project to the next level.
JJC is a location for those who want to take the Peace Officer Wellness Evaluation Report (P.O.W.E.R.) Test, as established by The Illinois Law Enforcement and Standards Board.
JJC is home to three nature trails: the Rock Run Trail (connecting to the I&M Canal trail), the Forest Trail and the Prairie Trail. We hope you enjoy your hike!
JJC culinary arts students run two restaurants: Saveur and Thrive. Each offer their own creative and imaginative cuisines, and both are incredibly flavorful.
Audience members will delight in the many performances our Fine Arts Department puts on each year. Typically hosted in the fall and spring, previous shows have included Night of the Living Dead, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time and Rocky Horror Picture Show.
