
Nursing Program Information Session
The GED Test, or General Educational Development Test, is a group of four tests designed to measure an individual's proficiency in standard high school subjects for anyone 16 or older not enrolled in high school. The term, "GED College Ready + Credit" indicates that the GED tester scored within the 175-200 range within one or more of these four tests.
Joliet Junior College does not award credit for "GED College Ready + Credit" scores, however, may allow students to use GED scores as a placement metric. Click here to learn more about GED scores as a placement measure at JJC.
Sophia Learning is a company that offers online, self-paced courses based on college material. Sophia Learning courses are not accepted at JJC as they do not have a regional accreditation.
Straighter Line is a company that offers online, self-paced courses based on college material. Straighter Line courses are not accepted at JJC as they do not have a regional accreditation.
Students cannot use work experience alone to earn Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) for general education coursework. In some cases, students may demonstrate their knowledge to earn CPL for career and technical education, math, and foreign language courses.
