This degree prepares students who are planning to transfer to a four-year school.
The Associate in General Studies degree allows students to take a variety of classes and explore
interests. This degree may or may not transfer.
The Associate in Science degree prepares students who are planning to transfer to a four-year school.
This program prepares students to enter employment in introductory levels of accounting. Education provided in financial and managerial accounting through the intermediate levels. Tax accounting is also included in the accounting education. Some business education is also included.
This certificate offers a stackable credential to the associate of applied science degree. The curriculum include the latest technology and skills needed for employment in a wide ariety of office positions including administrative, medical and legal support staff. Emphasis is placed on the selected concentration to which the student is able to decide.
A degree in business administration prepares graduates to become creative problem solvers in their workplaces. Students pursuing this associate degree will learn about accounting, economics, business law, management, finance, marketing and computer applications.
Designed for students who have completed a degree in liberal arts/sciences or in a technical field, this certificate focuses on foundational business disciplines. This certificate will prepare students for a transition into a business-related career.
This certificate will provide the individual with basic knowledge regarding health, safety and teaching practices to meet the needs of young children. This certificate prepares the candidate for the Illinois Gateways ECE Credential Level II, and entry level positions in the early childhood field.
This degree prepares students to work in today’s technologically advanced industries. Students will receive hands-on training while exploring a variety of computer programming, including Java, C++ or Visual Basic. Students may specialize in a specific language by selecting appropriate sequences.
This certificate provides students with specialized information relating to anticipated customer needs, products/services, how to process orders and returns and resolve complaints. Students will receive a solid foundation in business communication, human relations and customer services.
This certificate is designed for students who want to own their own businesses. Students will take basic courses that give a background in accounting, business and management.
These certificates emphasize the essentials of supply chain management, the transportation and distribution process, cargo security compliance and import/export fundamentals. Students will learn the professional business and communications skills required to excel in the field. This program is hybrid and requires multiple hybrid courses.
Students pursuing a certificate or degree in this program will learn the basic skills needed to become a supervisor or manager in the hospitality industry. Faculty use real world examples to help students learn the fundamentals of the hotel Industry, the restaurant industry, and the meetings industry.
Earning this certificate prepares individuals for technical and supervisory positions within the hotel/lodging industry.
This certificate offers students that opportunity to acquire, develop or update their job skills for work in today’s libraries by providing a comprehensive overview of all facets of library work.
This degree/certificate prepares students for careers in the field. MIS professionals combine computer technology with management decision-making methods to implement computerized information systems.
This degree/certificate uses contemporary managerial theories to train new and existing supervisors how to apply the managerial functions of planning, organization, leadership, communication and goal setting in an effective manner.
The Microsoft Specialist Cert program prepares students to successfully pass the Microsoft Office Specialist certification exam giving them the edge in a competitive job market. Certification demonstrates specialized competence in Microsoft’s Office software suite.
The following programs are mostly online but require one or more hybrid (on-campus or at another JJC location) course.
The Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Certificate is designed for Cisco Networking Academy participants who are seeking entry-level jobs in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry or hope to fulfill prerequisites to pursue more specialized ICT skills. The CCNA Certificate validates a broad range of fundamentals for all IT careers networking topics including: network fundamentals, network access, IP connectivity, IP services, security fundamentals, automation and programmability. This certificate is a stackable credential within the CO238- Information Networking Technology AAS degree.
This certificate will teach you the technical aspects of dynamic content-based web development. You will learn: skills necessary to create websites with the latest in HTML and CSS standards, front- and back-end coding for both client and server communications while connecting to databases to dynamically obtain and update the content, and the latest in cloud computing and web server administration.
Students in the JJC Game Design and Development program learn the skills and techniques to design and to make video games. They will get hands-on experience with the following types of software: Maya (to develop 3D models and animations for games) and game engines, such as UnReal UDK, GameMaker, Unity and RPG Maker (programs to develop video games).
This pathway is designed to provide students with a foundational understanding of network security concepts and skills. Students in this pathway will learn essential security concepts and skills necessary for configuring and troubleshooting computer networks. This includes understanding various aspects of network security, such as encryption, authentication, access control, and more. One of the key goals of this pathway is to help students ensure the integrity of devices and data on computer networks.
This certificate program at JJC is designed to prepare individuals for technical, supervisory and managerial positions within the restaurant and food service industry.
Students in the Teacher Assistant program learn how to provide support in general education and special education classrooms, from pre-K through grade 12. They learn about the educational system, about approaches to teaching, and how to work with students in general and special education.
JJC’s web design certificate focuses on: the code that supports HTML pages, the CSS that drives the visual design, user experience (UX), and design strategies. Upon completion, you will be able to work with clients, create wireframe layouts, propose prototypes, create visual animations, and perform the tasks of a web designer.
Best for transfer to a four-year university with a major in the social sciences, humanities, fine arts, business or other arts.

The AGS is not a transfer degree and may not transfer to other institutions.
