Information Technology

A full-time, exempt position, responsible for the administration of the Information Technology Department. Work involves providing leadership, education and internal support of Information Technology services for patrons and employees. Serves as Person-in-Charge as assigned. One evening per week will be required.

Primary Responsibilities

● Acts as the primary technology contact for routine maintenance for library equipment, troubleshooting, update, project and evaluations relating to hardware, software, phones and equipment

● Plans, implements, and evaluates programs for adults and staff coordinated with Programming Supervisor

● Represents the library to the community by giving talks and tours and visiting local organizations

● Assists in the use of technology including computers, e-readers, phones, tablets and other library technology

● Updates and troubleshoots library technology including faxing, scanning, copying, printing

● Manages equipment inventory and tracks technology expenditures. Prepares budget for short and long term needs

● Researches, recommends and implements technology projects

● Trains patrons and staff in the use of technology; creates training plans and videos, teaches public classes

● Responsible for the contents of the library website

● Monitors patron use of computer area

● Compiles statistics for monthly and annual reports

● Understands and enforces the library policies and procedures

● Responsible for opening and closing procedures as needed

● Attends relevant meetings, classes, and training as well as coordinating professional development for staff

● Seeks out and develops grant proposals to support library technology and growth

● Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

● Minimum of two years IT work experience preferred
