The company’s focus is purchasing and reselling store-level inventories from Fortune 500 and other well-known U.S. retailers. SliBuy offers its bidders brand-name merchandise at a price they set, resulting in effective discounts of up to 80% off regular retail. For retailers, SliBuy discreetly liquidates inventories including product returns and seasonal items. SliBuy is unique in that they offer their customers the ability to pick the product up at their warehouse or have it shipped within the U.S.. Every day is Christmas morning at the SliBuy warehouse. The company purchases truckloads of mixed inventory from retailers and often doesn’t know what will be on the truck until they open the doors. A box with a laptop could be stacked on top of a kayak next to a blender. Items are unloaded and then sorted based on their retail value. Any item worth more than $50 and small enough to ship goes to the processing lines where, utilizing SliBuy’s proprietary software, the item is tagged, identified, graded and photographed. Once the processed item is placed on the shelf it is automatically put up on auction and sold to the highest bidder. Lower-value and large items are sold through the warehouse store.
