SUMMARY:
The Jury/Child Support Clerk performs clerical duties and assists others.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
CHILD SUPPORT
-Set up and maintain Child Support accounts/records as ordered by Judge in our system
-Load payer/payee's information into State Disbursement Unit's (SDU) system
-Upload payments daily from SDU's system into our system
-Collect/maintain annual child support fees
-Print SDU reports as requested by attorneys, payers, and payees
-Assist with petitioning cases back into court to modify child support
- Work with Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services with cases they are involved in
-Responsible for security of impounded documents
-Answers written, telephoned, or in person inquiries regarding child support and policies
-Certify child support orders to be given to employers to begin withholding of support from paychecks
JURY DUTY
-Summons Petit Jurors monthly
-Summons Grand Jurors twice a year
-Prepare juror questionnaires for scheduled trials
-Assist jurors with questions and jury process
- Record attendance when jurors are present
-Prepare spreadsheet to give to Treasure's office for payment to jurors
DAIL Y DUTIES
-Pull court docket 2 days in advance
-Prepare dockets and files for next days' court call, scan files as needed
-Obtain, open and distribute mail throughout office; process outgoing mail
-Schedule weddings
-Authorized passport agent
ASSIST CIVIL CLERK DAILY
-Filing of new cases
-File pleadings
-Assist public at counter
-Answer telephone, assist with court questions
-Process orders of protection
APPEALS
-Create notice to Appellate Court
-Notify court reporters and appellate defender if needed
-Gather and prepare exhibits
-Prepare appeal and eFile
-Prepare billing if applicable
CLERK BACK UP
-Back up court clerks as needed

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Previous experience working in an office environment and customer service is highly preferred. Experience with Microsoft products, including email required. Valid driver’s license required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, see, and use fingers, hands, and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or carry up to 10 pounds.
