Job Description | Shift and schedule Afternoon shift Morning shift Flextime Day shift The Dietary Aide is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care in a loving and safe environment for all of our residents, while helping each of them to achieve their maximum potential. We are committed to be a resource for the families of our residents who have entrusted us with their care. We will empower our staff by providing them with a motivating and supportive work environment. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1) Greet residents and take beverage order. 2) Return with beverages and take meal order. 3) Check on residents to see if they need anything additional. 4) Clear away dirty dishes once resident has completed their meal. 5) Know the menu of the day and the options available to the residents. 6) Offer choices should they not like the daily special, provide them with the alternative menu. 7) Prepare dining room for meal service by filling caddies/dispensers and setting up racks and carts. 8) Clean up workspace when meals end. 9) Properly label, date, and store product. 10) Perform dishwashing/cleaning procedures assuring that utensils, etc., are readily available for next meal. 11) Roll silverware for upcoming meal. 12) Complete all cleaning task as assigned. 13) Perform all other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Skills Required: 1) Food Handler certificate – preferred. 2) Ability to handle multiple priorities. 3) Must have compassion and empathy for seniors and desire to work with seniors. 4) Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. 5) Must have the ability to read, write and follow written direction in the English language. 6) Ability to timely and effectively follow up on all necessary requests from residents and families. 7) Maintain and encourage a positive work atmosphere by communicating in a manner that fosters cooperation. 8) Ability to handle stressful situations and work well under pressure. 9) Ability to recognize and communicate problems with Executive Director/Food Services Director. |
