Empowering youth through immersive experiences that introduce college pathways and build lifelong connections to JJC.
OIEA’s youth-focused programs introduce young learners from kindergarten to high school to the college experience through hands-on, community-based learning that builds skills, confidence, and a sense of belonging in higher education.
An institutional design thinking effort, Future Wolves is a summer camp that brings our youngest learners to campus and plants the seeds of educational aspirations early by exposing K-5 students to college opportunities.
This initiative provides middle school students with an opportunity to visit a local community college and gain early exposure to college and career pathways. Through campus tours and interactive sessions, students explore academic departments, career-focused programs, and student support services while engaging with college faculty and leadership. The experience encourages students to see themselves in higher education, strengthens their confidence in pursuing future goals, and highlights the welcoming, supportive environment that fosters academic growth and leadership development.
Supporting local high school students by fostering connections with local entrepreneurs and business leaders. Through workshops and seminars at JJC, these young innovators receive training, mentorship and a first-hand look at what it takes to turn ideas into success.
In collaboration with Will County Center for Economic Development, the OIEA offers a unique opportunity for high school students in Will County to gain valuable work experience, develop essential skills, explore potential career paths, contribute to the community through projects and provides professional relationship-building opportunities.
