The Morris Fire Protection District is accepting applications to establish an eligibility list for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic, Firefighter/EMT-B with the District.
Applications will be available to candidates November 3, 2025 – December 4, 2025, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday at Station #2, 2301 Ashton Road, Morris, IL. Completed applications must be returned to the above address in person no later than 4:00 p.m. on December 4, 2025.
Written Exam: Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.

• Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and under 35 years, unless otherwise exempt from this maximum hiring age requirement as set forth in the Fire Protection District Act (70 ILCS 705/16.06b(c))
• U.S. citizen
• No conviction of any felony or any disqualifying misdemeanor as established by statute
• Possess a valid Illinois driver's license
• Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
• Be certified as a Paramedic in the State of Illinois (EMT-P) within a 3-year period (assigned by the District)
• Provide proof of a valid EMT-B license issued by the IDPH at the time of application
• Provide proof of a valid CPAT card with ladder climb issued no more than 365 days at time of application
Benefits: 9 Kelly Days; 48 hours of vacation time after 6 months;120 hours vacation after one year; 3 floating holidays, health benefits (80% employer, 20% employee), sick time.
Mandatory Orientation: Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. (doors closed at 9:00, no late admission)
Applicants who successfully pass the written exam will be scheduled for an oral interview. Date and times of interviews will be assigned upon passing of written exam.
The Morris Fire Protection District will award preference points for any of the following: Veteran status; Education; Experience; Paramedic; and Residency within the Morris Fire Protection District
