What Does a Behavior Technician Do at UABL?
At Unlocking Abilities Behavior and Learning, our Behavior Technicians (BTs) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) are more than just staff—they are mentors, encouragers, and advocates. Working 1:1 with children diagnosed with autism and developmental disabilities, BTs/RBTs use the evidence-based principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to help each child reach meaningful milestones.
You’ll collaborate closely with a supportive team of BCBAs, clinical leaders, and fellow techs in a center-based setting, where the focus is on progress, compassion, and connection.
How Will You Contribute?
As a Behavior Technician at UABL, your impact will be felt every single day. You will:
-Work directly with clients to implement individualized treatment plans
-Teach communication, social, play, and self-help skills
-Reduce challenging behaviors using proactive strategies
-Celebrate small wins that build toward lifelong independence
-Document sessions and collect data to track progress
-Act as a positive role model and build trusting relationships with the children you serve
This is not a babysitting or caregiving job—this is an opportunity to build confidence, foster meaningful skills, and change lives.
