The Automotive Parts Counter Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in helping to oversee the parts department of an automotive service facility or dealership. This position is responsible for managing inventory, ensuring the availability of parts, and providing exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive service and repair, along with excellent organizational and communication skills.
Assist in supervising and training parts department staff.
Help manage inventory levels, including ordering, returns, and stock adjustments.
Monitor sales trends and suggest inventory adjustments.
Ensure accurate and timely processing of parts transactions.
Maintain relationships with vendors and manufacturers.
Resolve customer and internal issues related to parts orders or availability.
Support the Parts Manager in achieving department goals and KPIs.
Enforce safety procedures and maintain compliance with company policies.
Prepare reports on sales, inventory, and department performance as needed.
Greet and assist all customers in a courteous and helpful manner.
Identify and locate the correct parts using electronic catalogs and inventory systems.
Provide accurate price quotes and availability of parts.
Process parts orders, returns, and warranties.
Maintain parts inventory and restock shelves as needed.
Coordinate with service department personnel to ensure timely delivery of parts to technicians.
Operate POS system to invoice and receive payments.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the parts counter and stockroom.
Answer phone calls and respond to customer inquiries.
Participate in inventory counts and stock rotation.
Stay updated on product knowledge and promotions.
Proven experience in an automotive service or repair environment, preferably in a dealership setting.
Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, repair processes, and OEM parts.
Proficiency in data entry and inventory management systems.
Experience with warehouse operations, including familiarity with forklift operation.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of accuracy.
