Job Description | Serve as an integral member of the agencys Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) program for adults with mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders. Primary functions include the management of the rent system for individuals who receive a housing subsidy and are charged rent by Cornerstone within the Community Housing program; managing outstanding resident debts and assisting the Manager of Housing Operations and the agency?s Finance department with coordination and implantation of tasks needed to successfully operate the Community Housing program within the parameters of each funding source. This position operates within and contributes to an environment in compliance with Fair Housing Laws and evidence-based Housing First programs. Manage the rent system for individuals who are charged rent by Cornerstone Services within the Community Housing Program: Collect and document monthly rent payments from individuals. Communicate with the Finance Department on rents paid, outstanding balances and other monies owed; inform the Finance Department when a resident has left the program and the plans for repayment. Review and upload rent determinations per protocol to resident records. Initiate and send monthly late rent letter notifications to individuals in CH Program. Communicate with resident's housing team on patterns/issues that need to be addressed related to payment of rent. Oversee and manage outstanding loans (including security deposits) owed to Cornerstone: Initiate and send quarterly loan notification letters to individuals in CH Program. Track and confirm loan agreements are completed and updated annually as needed. Communicate with resident's housing team on patterns/issues that need to be addressed related to payment of loans. Complete quarterly evaluations on household size/verification of household members in the resident record. Coordinate pest control treatments, when necessary, with outside entities and be on-site at the unit for scheduled pest control treatments. Serve as an expert in understanding database and other internal housing reports; run data collection reports as needed and directed by Associate Director(s) or Director of Behavioral Health. Receive and process applicants for open positions in CH program by tracking, screening, and forwarding eligible candidates to hiring managers per protocol. Participate in DMH and SUPR learning collaborative and technical assistance calls. Track and ensure BARC 10 assessments are being completed every 6 months for individuals in the SUPR grant. Act as a liaison between agency partners when utility assistance and support is available (e.g. coordinating LIHEAP on-site for the agency); distribute information and coordinate with staff as needed. Act as a liaison between agency partners when resources are available in the community (e.g. coordinating the Dental Van or other resource events); distribute information and coordinate with staff as needed. Enter assigned individuals into the Statewide Referral Network (SRN) system at entry into Community Housing. Document communications with landlords, tenants, and/or other housing entities in the individual's electronic case record, per department protocol. Enter time spent in landlord communications, move-ins, and other required activities into the agency database on a weekly basis for residents receiving DMH 220 funding. Participate in all agency and department trainings, monthly department meetings, and any additionally recommended trainings or meetings as required by supervisor(s). Maintain ongoing compliance with all agency-related training and certification requirements. Respond per established procedures to all emergency situations including medical, behavioral, fire, severe weather, and other hazards. Operate agency or personal vehicle in accordance with established policies and procedures. Own, maintain, and use personal smartphone for company business in accordance with established policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned. |
Job Requirements | Must be at least 21 years of age, be a high school graduate or have a GED certificate. Ideal candidate possesses the following skills and abilities: skilled in using computer applications and navigating the internet for research-based purposes; ability to effectively communicate with team members and leadership; demonstrates exceptional organizational and time management skills, ensuring adherence to deadlines without reminders; mathematical ability to calculate social security rates, rent payments, pro-rations; ability to maintain purchasing and declining balances; professionalism- confidentiality, patience, teamwork and excellent customer services skills. Driving record and auto insurance coverage in accordance with agency policy. A post offer physical and criminal background check required. Reliable transportation required. |
