Job Description Part-time (Monday/Wednesday/Fridays)
The front desk receptionist is the first point of contact our patients and visitors have when they arrive to Deerpath Multi-Specialty Ambulatory Surgical Center. The front desk receptionist is responsible for ensuring that people are in the right place at the right time, and for promoting a positive image of where they work. This employee helps the clinic run smoothly by scheduling appointments, greeting and checking in patients, answering phones, maintaining accounts and records, and other tasks as needed. From the moment the patient walks through our door or calls, they should feel like part of the family. Your role in this process cannot be overstated!
Creates a welcoming atmosphere by greeting visitors and patients to the clinic
Check in patients in a timely, friendly manner
Expedites patient processing by having them fill out forms
Obtains patient identification and insurance information
Maintains patient accounts by verifying insurance information
Mandatory familiarity with HIPAA
Enters patient data with minimal errors
Accepts payment for services rendered
Responsible for organization of paperwork
Job Requirements High School Diploma
Minimum 1 year of medical front desk experience
Must be able to multitask effectively; critical time management skills necessary
Understanding of basic healthcare terminology
Demonstrated ability to interact with healthcare professionals, patients, and insurance companies alike
Excellent customer service skills
Pleasant phone demeanor
Computer skills required
Ability to make decisions and solve problems
Consistent dependability
Work well alone and in a team environment
Demonstrate good organizational skills and be able to prioritize workload
Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
