This position is for candidates with background to apply their knowledge and experience working as a Transportation Technician at the Joliet Refinery in Illinois.
Transportation Technicians operate and maintain automotive and light and heavy-duty equipment.
Operate and maintain equipment including but not limited to front-end loaders, forklifts, tractor trailers, hydraulic backhoes, and snow removal equipment.
Inspect, operate, and maintain mobile cranes of various sizes.
Operate and maintain equipment for the coke haul system including the loading dock, overhead clam shell crane, crusher car, and tube belt.
Perform preventive maintenance, repair, and troubleshoot refinery vehicles and equipment.
Use of hand and power tools.
Complete documentation such as lift plans, preventive maintenance, and repair reports.
The job involves working at heights and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Work schedule is days with occasional shift work including weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Must be 18 years of age
Possess valid drivers’ license
High School Graduate or Equivalent
Currently possess or be able to qualify for a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
Able and willing to work shift work, weekends, holidays, and overtime (full time positions)
Able and willing to work outside in all weather conditions
Able and willing to work at heights above 25 feet
High School Diploma
Equivalent work experience
A minimum of 5 years transportation experience or technical/mechanical training preferred
Strong analytical and communication skills
Mechanical/transportation experience in a refinery, chemical plant or other manufacturing plant.
Experience in troubleshooting/repair all types of transportation equipment
Strong troubleshooting and repair skills
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Suite tools
This position requires pre-employment testing. After applying you will receive a pop up giving you access to the assessment.
