The North Central Illinois Council of Governments is seeking an energetic, organized, take-charge person to fulfill the role of Economic Development Planner to assist communities, in a six (6) county Economic Development District region. The planner will work closely with communities and business leaders to develop projects and programs to implement the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy for the region.
Extensive experience with Microsoft office Suite of products including Word, and Excel is essential. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to an impactful regional planning organization. This is a full-time position at 35 hours a week and includes having all state and federal holidays off with excellent benefits.
Bachelor’s degree in planning, economics, public or business administration, or a field related to the work preferred; AND 1 year of professional experience in economic and business development preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered. GIS experience a plus. A valid Driver's License is required. Salary based on experience.
