POSITION SUMMARY:
Provide responsible supervision of infants, toddlers and school age children placed in your care while parents/guardians are elsewhere in the facility. Must be actively involved and attentive at all times. Responsible for ensuring the safety and security of children under your supervision. Kids Korner Attendant must act in accordance with the YMCAs mission and commitment to developing human beings with character values including Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Supervises the children, classroom, and all activities. Follows all procedures and standards.

Nurtures children through purposeful programming dedicated to building achievement and belonging in youth and relationships among youth and within families.

Maintains a professional attitude in all circumstances.

Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies.

Communicates with parents/guardians regarding children's behavior or illness.

Ensures that accident reports and reportable condition forms are filled out completely and submitted in a timely manner.

Notify supervisor of any problems or issues that arise during shift.

Assists with any other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be at least age 16.

High school graduate or equivalent; one year or more of college preferred.

Previous experience working with children.

Experience preferred in one or more of the following areas: child care.

CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, Child Abuse Prevention and Sexual Harassment training prior to first day of hire.

Previous experience with diverse populations preferred.

Ability to work long hours with positive attitude.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to plan, lead and participate in a range of activities in a variety of outdoor/indoor settings.
