Collision Center Paint Prepper & Detailer

Job Responsibilities

Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming as necessary. Remove dirt, grease, and other contaminants from vehicle surfaces to ensure proper adhesion of paint.
Assist painter by masking off areas of vehicle that will not be painted by utilizing tape, paper, and plastic sheeting.
Use sandpaper, sanding blocks, and other tools and/or methods to smooth out imperfections in the vehicle’s surface.
Assist painter with various tasks such as mixing paint, cleaning spray guns, and preparing paint booths.
Inspect vehicles for any imperfections or defects in the paint job and make necessary touch-ups or corrections.
Buff & wax vehicles post painting and/or re-assembly.
Thoroughly detail vehicles prior to return to customer.
Follow all federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazard waste disposal
Perform work safely and in accordance with OSHA guidelines
Participate regularly in in-house and industry sponsored training programs offered to you Maintain clean work area
Attend weekly department meetings
Perform any additionally tasks assigned as directed by management
Job Requirements Experience, Education, Certificates, Licenses, Registrations (Including Driver's License)

Minimum two years experience in automotive (body shop preferred)
Willingness to pursue certifications pertinent to industry and shop needs
Valid, in-state driver’s license, safe driving record – must be insurable
Minimum 18 years of age
Compensation

Compensation is based on experience and commensurate with Fortune 500 companies.
