Job Description | Shift: Night shift Weekly day range: Weekends as needed Work Location: In person Job Summary: Berkot's is seeking Assistant Manager applicants for our Berkot's Locations! Berkot's Super Foods is a Family-Owned Independent Full-Service Grocery Store covering from south Chicago Suburbs into Central Illinois and Wisconsin. We pride ourselves as being your local grocer, you can expect quality products and a customer service focused staff. Job Responsibilities: Assistant Store Manager in the day-to-day functions of running the store, responsible for opening and closing of the store Have functional knowledge of all departments within the store: Deli, Bakery, Produce, Meat. Grocery, Front End, Receiving Provide quality customer service at all times, handle customer comments and special requests Assist in interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training of all new Employee Understand and enforce all company policies as it relates to best practices in the Employee Handbook Supervise a team of 3-20 employees store wide at one time, prioritizing tasks and functions for the day Work with Store Manager for counseling on problems, recommendations for change, and effectiveness on merchandising decisions Understand use and safety on all pieces of machinery and equipment Uphold OSHA safety and Health code Standards in every department Make decisions concerning: placement of merchandise, pricing, employee scheduling, expense control, store shrink, ordering of products, department operating procedures and sales/ promotion of merchandise Communicate to customer, employees, managers, and supervisors Participate in employee development, coaching and disciplinary action |
