    Want to work on the river for your career? Join our team of professional mariners as a Pilot of Towing Vessels. We are currently seeking a USCG licensed Captain for our fleet operation in Morris, IL. The schedule is Monday through Friday 7am to 3pm with some weekends and overtime required. All overtime hours are paid at premium rates per the Union Contract.

    Verify Vessel and Crew are suitable for the intended routes;
    Ensure navigational assessments are completed each day;
    Ensure required inspections, reports, logbook entries, and items required by the Towing Vessel Record are completed as necessary;
    Navigate the vessel and tow safely and efficiently while on watch;
    Ensure all barges are in navigable condition;
    Supervise crew to ensure safe and efficient work practices are being followed;
    Follow Safety Policies, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment. Maintain an awareness of environmental standards. Take corrective action to address minor problems or report compliance issues to the appropriate supervisor for resolution.
