The EMS System Instructor l is an employee of MHEMSS, and works collaboratively with the MHEMSS Medical Director, the MHEMSS Administrative Manager and the pre-hospital agencies and providers associated with MHEMSS to ensure quality pre-hospital education is accomplished.'

    Currently licensed Registered Nurse and/or Certified Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic in the State of Illinois required.

    Completion of Healthcare Provider (CPR), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (or Pediatric Emergencies for Pre-hospital Professionals), Basic Trauma Life Support, and Basic Life Support at a provider and/or instructor level desired.

    Experience in an EMS vehicle or willing to make provisions to gain experience on the vehicle required.

    Thoroughly knowledgeable about and able to demonstrate all skills including extrication as presented in the EMT initial training program at all levels required.

    Minimum of five years teaching experience preferred.

    EMS Lead Instructor preferred.

    DCFS mandated reporter certificate required.

    Personal
    Ability to work effectively with others, possessing tact, discretion, and diplomacy.

    Demonstrated leadership and teaching ability.

    Ability to work under pressure.
