A person who performs a variety of duties in and around the buildings of the facility complex to assist the tradesmen and others in completing their tasks. Make minor repairs and complete routine maintenance of equipment throughout the facility, perform snow and ice removal, grounds maintenance and other labor intensive tasks. Assists Tech II as assigned. Responsible for the assembly and transport of furniture, office equipment, and related items on the main hospital campus and affiliated healthcare centers. Other duties as assigned.
Professional/Educational
Valid Illinois Drivers license.
Possess basic skills and knowledge to perform maintenance duties.
Must be able to follow direction, both verbal and written, and work cooperatively with other staff members.
Ability to safely operate a large moving truck, as appropriate to the position.
Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
Personal
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
Appears well groomed and observes the facility dress code; wears identification badge while on duty.
Reports to work as scheduled; minimal absenteeism.
Consistently completes and maintains assigned duties.
