| Job Description | The Refund Specialist is responsible for the timely, accurate, and efficient review and analysis of payments and adjustments from insurance payers to determine the accuracy of posting and the validity of the remittance. The Refund Specialist will also be responsible for identifying, researching and refunding any dollars due to guarantor or payer. Communicate with insurance payer’s complex financial concepts pertaining to contracts and the many different explanations of benefits. |
| Job Requirements | Professional/Educational Five or more years experience in healthcare billing, knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid billing. Must demonstrate strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Word/Excel/Outlook, payer portals, and electronic medical records (EMR) software. Related college classes preferred. Personal Ability to teach and direct other office personnel. Works effectively with others, possessing tact, discretion and diplomacy. Possesses the ability to work under pressure. |
