    Position Summary:
    The Surgery Scheduler for Genesis Orthopedics & Sports Medicine provides administrative, surgery scheduling, and patient care coordination for busy orthopedic surgeons in a clinical setting.

    Verifies patient insurance and obtains authorizations for scheduled surgeries. 

    Maintains accurate surgery schedule on department calendar as well as each individual surgeon’s calendar. 

    Coordinates patient preoperative testing, and collects all pertinent reports for review by licensed personnel to proceed with surgery. 

    Ensures necessary imaging is available and on location for surgeon at time of surgery. 

    Individual will also assist with office and clerical duties, including some meeting scheduling & coordination, and correspondence management (mail, fax, email) on behalf of the physician, etc. 

    This person will also assist the team in coordinating patient referrals & appointments from external referral sources, and communicating with Workman’s Comp Insurance companies. 

    Additional duties as assigned.
