Agriculture production and management careers include production managers, herdsmen or other positions dealing directly with the production and management of grain and/or livestock.
What Will I Learn?
The Agriculture Production and Management program prepares students to enter employment in production agriculture through farming and farm management. Technical education is provided in crop and livestock production, mechanical skills and farm business management.
In addition to general college subjects, supervised occupational experience in production agriculture for college credit is an integral part of this program.
What is Unique about our Program?
In addition to the broad base of study, this degree program includes 19 weeks of a paid internship work experience at a related agricultural production facility. Students are placed in these work experience programs by the program.
What Are My Career Opportunities?
Most graduates are employed full-time in positions such as production managers, herdsmen or other positions dealing directly with the production and management of grain and/or livestock. Placement is coordinated by JJC agriculture staff and each student is visited on-site during the internship period.
Graduates from the Agriculture Production & Management Program typically each have 3-4 full-time positions to choose from upon graduation.
This pathway is a great fit if you’re practical, enjoy hands-on work outdoors or working with animals. You can expect to learn from experienced, expert instructors who care about student success.
