The JJC Fine Arts Department is pleased to provide the community with theatre, music and art events. Some performances and events will be virtual, and some will be in person.


How to Tune in

We are excited to provide paperless ticketing through our new online platform, Ludus. While we no longer offer physical tickets, our staff are available on weekdays to assist both over the phone and via email. 

The Box Office also offers ticket sales in-person an hour before each performance. Cash and card are both accepted methods of payment.

Many in-person events will also be available for live streaming and/or recording upon request. For questions, please email boxoffice@jjc.edu.

    Gallery Exhibitions

    JJC Juried Students' Awards Exhibition 2025 - April 21st - June 26th

    This annual exhibition features the work of our own JJC Visual Arts Students! Students are invited to submit up to 5 individual pieces of work to our Independant Juror who selects the work that will be features in the exhibition as well as the awards for the year! This exhibition showcases the dedication, skill, and artistry of our hardworking students and runs the gamut in everything from painting, drawing, photography, jewelry and metalsmithing, and ceramics, to graphic design.

    26th at 12pm - Student Recital; will be held in the JJC Mainstage Theatre as well as live streamed.

    30th at 3pm - Musica Viva: NIU Steel Band Concert will be held in the JJC Mainstage Theatre

    April

    30th at 12pm - Student Recital; will be held in the JJC Mainstage Theatre as well as live streamed.

    May

    2nd at 7:30pm - in the JJC Fine Arts Theatre, the JJC Jazz Band under the direction of Richard Moore will present a concert of the music by composer and saxophonist Joe Henderson. The concert will also feature original arrangements and compositions by the JJC Student Jazz Combo under the direction of Dr. David Nuccio, and the concert will open with Coal City Middle School Jazz Band under the direction of JJC alumnus, Andrew Brimm. Tickets are $10 for Adults and $5 for Students and Seniors. All ticket proceeds go towards the music student scholarships. Joliet Junior College and the Fine Arts Department Acknowledge support from the Illinois Arts Council. The JJC Jazz Band Concert will be held in the JJC Mainstage Theatre as well as live streamed.

    3rd at 3pm -Join us for an unforgettable afternoon of choral music as the JJC Chamber Singers and Chorale take the stage for their spring concert. The Chamber Singers will present a dynamic program spanning classical masterpieces, contemporary works, jazz favorites, and beloved show tunes, showcasing their versatility and artistry. The JJC Chorale will perform John Rutter's Requiem, a deeply moving and universally cherished work known for its lyrical beauty and emotional depth. This special performance will feature internationally acclaimed soprano Eun-Hye Choi as a soloist, accompanied by a chamber ensemble. Tickets are required for admission. Purchase yours in advance and experience an inspiring celebration of choral excellence! The JJC Chamber Singers and Chorale Concert will be held in the JJC Mainstage Theatre as well as live streamed.

    4th at 3pm - Join us for the Joliet Junior College Community Band's Spring Concert on Sunday May 4th at 3pm in the Fine Arts Theatre at Joliet Junior College located at 1215 Houbolt Road. Under the direction of Professor Charles Morgan, Music Coordinator and Director of Bands, this event promises an afternoon of exceptional music.

    The concert will feature a diverse program, starting with Henry Filmore's "The Crosley March" and Randall Standridge's thrilling new "Symphony No. 1: A Ghost Story." These pieces highlight the band's versatility and the emotive power of concert band music.

    After intermission, the second half will include John Williams' "The Raider's March" from the Indiana Jones movie series, a wonderful transcription of Der Gottergatte (The Divine Husband) by composer Franz Lehar, Illuminations by Mark Camphouse, "Selections from Wicked" by Stephen Schwartz, arranged by Jow Bocook, and will conclude with the crowd favorite "the Stars and Stripes Forever."

     This year, the JJC Community Band proudly celebrates its 46th year of musical excellence. We invite you to join us in celebrating this milestone and enjoy an afternoon of outstanding band repertoire, beautifully performed by some of the area's finest musicians. 

    The Community Band Concert will be held in the JJC Mainstage Theatre as well as live streamed.

    9th at 7:30pm - Guitar Ensemble and Percussion Ensemble Concert; will be held in the JJC Mainstage Theatre as well as live streamed.

    10th at 3pm - The JJC Steelband, under the direction of Adam Cowger will present its spring Concert on Saturday, May 10th at 3pm in the JJC Fine Arts Theatre. The Bolingbrook High School Steelband, directed by Avery Attzs, will perform a delightful opening set and join the JJC Steelband for a mass Steelband number to close the concert. Mr. Attzs will also be feature as a guest soloist. Come enjoy a wonderful concert soca, calypso, salsa, classical, reggae, pop music and more! TheJJC Steel Band Concert will be held in the JJC Mainstage Theatre as well as live streamed.

    13th at 7:30 - JJC Student Honors Recital; will be held in the JJC Mainstage Theatre as well as live streamed.

    Having opened in 1988 and is one of the longest-running shows in Chicago history, Too Much Lights Makes The Baby Go Blind is an ensemble experiment in presenting "30 Plays in 60 Minutes." Each two-minute play is performed in random order with an interactive audience. An onstage 60-minute timer keeps everyone honest. This collection of 90 comic, tragic, political, personal, and abstract plays give audiences a bit of everything!

    Content warnings: mature themes and strong language.

  • Parking Instructions

    When visiting the Laura A. Sprague Gallery or the Joliet Junior College Theatre, we would like to assist you in finding the closest parking lot. Upon entering the college campus area either via Houbolt Road or Richard T. Rivera Way, there will be signs on your right-hand side for the different areas of campus. Following the green sign labeled the North Building, with the J-building on it, you will turn right onto William Glasscock Drive. When following this road to the J-building, you will see a parking lot labeled N3. We recommend parking here for the closest entrance to the building.

    Once here, upon entering the building, the Laura A. Sprague Gallery will be to your immediate left. Walking further in on the right-hand side just a handful of feet will be the Joliet Junior College Theatre.
