JJC Board of Trustees Consolidated Election Filing Period Opens August 20

Joliet Junior College (JJC) announces the official opening of the consolidated election process for its Board of Trustees. The election, scheduled for April 1, 2025, will fill three, six-year Trustee terms. Candidates interested in running for these positions are encouraged to begin preparing their nominating petitions.


Key Dates for Potential Candidates:

  • August 20, 2024 – First day to circulate nominating petitions.
     
  • November 12, 2024 – First day to file nominating petitions in person at JJC's local election official's office, located in Room A-3107 at 1215 Houbolt Road, Joliet, Illinois. The office will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for filing.
     
  • November 18, 2024 – Final day to file nominating petitions. The office will remain open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on this date. Nominating petitions must contain original sheets signed by voters and circulators. A minimum of 50 signatures is required, though more are recommended.

JJC is governed by a seven-member Board of Trustees, all of whom are elected from within the college’s seven-county district, which includes parts of Will, Grundy, Kendall, LaSalle, Kankakee, Livingston, and Cook Counties.
