Proposed 2024 Tax Levy

NOTICE OF PROPOSED PROPERTY TAX LEVY FOR JOLIET JUNIOR COLLEGE, DISTRICT NO. 525

I. A public hearing to approve a proposed property tax levy for Joliet Junior College, Illinois Community College District No. 525, Counties of Will, Grundy, Livingston, Cook, Kendall, LaSalle and Kankakee, and State of Illinois, for 2024 will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at five-thirty p.m. at Joliet Junior College Main Campus, 1215 Houbolt Road, Joliet, Illinois.

II. The corporate and special purpose property taxes extended or abated for 2023 were $69,527,080.

The proposed corporate and special purpose property taxes to be levied for 2024 are $72,472,000. This represents a 4.24% increase over the previous year.

III. The property taxes extended for debt service and public building commission leases for 2023 were $7,815,416.

The estimated property taxes to be levied for debt service and building commission leases for 2024 are $8,055,000. This represents a 3.07% increase over the previous year.

IV. The total property taxes extended or abated for 2023 were $77,342,496.

The estimated total property taxes to be levied for 2024 are $80,527,000. This represents a 4.12% increase over the previous year.
