Namuo Family Endowed Scholarship

In September of 2022, shortly after beginning his tenure as the tenth president of Joliet Junior College, Dr. Clyne Namuo launched the Namuo Family Endowed Scholarship for First Generation Students. Dr. Namuo and his wife, Tiana, started the scholarship to honor the struggles and sacrifices his parents made to give him and his brother a better life.

“Higher education broke the cycle of poverty for our family, and it will continue to do so for generations to come,” Dr. Namuo says.

Thanks to the generous contributions of the Namuo family and the JJC community, the scholarship was fully endowed in 2024 ahead of schedule. The first students were awarded the scholarship for the fall 2024 semester.

Current endowment total: $101,079
