For the fourth year, Joliet Junior College will host Joliet Mayor Bob O’Dekirk as he delivers his State of the City address on Tuesday, Feb. 26.
The event will take place at JJC’s Main Campus, 1215 Houbolt Road, and is free and open to the public. Students, employees and community members are encouraged to attend.
The mayor will also deliver this address to the Joliet Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Feb. 25 at the Renaissance Center in downtown.
This marks the fourth year O’Dekirk will share his annual speech on the college’s Main Campus. The event is coordinated by the JJC Business Department, with assistance from its Business Club.
“In our business programs we promote an appreciation for the importance of civic engagement in our communities as well as the need for vibrant and responsible economic development,” said JJC Business Department Chair Bill O’Connor. “Mayor O’Dekirk’s State of City address in an excellent opportunity for students to see both of these concerns in action.”
The State of the City address begins at noon on Tuesday, Feb. 26 in the U-Building Auditorium. O’Dekirk will take questions from students and other spectators following his speech. The event will be live streamed on the JJC Facebook page.
