The 2024-25 season ends with national recognition for Joliet Junior College (JJC) athletics as the Wolves were the runners-up in the National Alliance of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA) Ron Case Cup, presented by Daktronics.
In the non-scholarship division, junior colleges are allowed to use the top five finishes per sport, per gender at the highest level of competition to earn points towards the Ron Case Cup. Bolstered by a national championship in women's golf and individual national champions across five sports, the Wolves earned 147 points for the second-place finish. This is an improvement on JJC's fourth-place finish last year.
"I cannot begin to describe how proud I am for this honor to the Wolves athletic department," said JJC athletic director Gregg Braun. "This award is a credit to every coach we have and all of our student-athletes. It is their dedication, hard work, commitment and excellence in competition this season that has led the Wolves to this amazing finish in this distinguished award. Thank you to everyone involved, from our administration to all of our athletic staff – this award is for all of them who have worked so hard to give JJC athletics a first-class experience."
Formerly known as the Daktronics Cup, the NATYCAA renamed it to the Ron Case Cup this year in honor of former NATYCAA president and steward of the cup program. Daktronics remains a sponsor after five years.
The Wolves also earned a fourth-place finish in the Learfield Directors' Cup, which recognizes the best two-year programs in the country. JJC finished with 165 points.
This is the highest finish ever by Joliet Junior College in these two standings.
