| Description: |
Conduct off-hire, on-hire, in-service, and new production surveys on various equipment including dry cargo, refrigerated and tank marine containers, chassis, over-the-road generators, and trailers, adhering to AAR, IICL, and other industry standards. Assess and document the condition of equipment, making informed decisions to adjust repair estimates according to customer-agreed labor times and material costs. Negotiate repair costs with vendors to secure the best prices. Ensure all equipment meets safety standards, using sound judgment to reject any equipment that does not meet criteria. Stay informed about domestic and international regulations affecting intermodal equipment and apply this knowledge during inspections. Utilize the proper methods and tools for repairing and refurbishing intermodal equipment. Respond promptly to customer requests and report inspection results in a timely manner. Prepare accurate paperwork, conforming to customer requirements and company procedures. Safely operate a vehicle, adhering to ISS, customer, and state regulations. Complete damage estimate reports and make decisions on identifying damage. |

Ability to walk, stand, and climb in and out of trailers/containers using the "three points of contact method." Preferred one year of recent experience in the transportation industry (equipment surveying, repair shop estimates, intermodal operations, etc.). Valid Driver’s License with an approved MVR. High School Diploma or equivalency. Basic mathematical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and web-based data systems.
