| Description: |
The Network Technician assists in managing, monitoring, and maintaining the network and server infrastructure and provides tier two technical support (and building coverage) for the seven school buildings at Minooka 201. Assist in maintaining network infrastructure (Servers, Switches, Access Points, and Firewalls) Assist in improving district cybersecurity, including vulnerability and patch management Assist in managing Active Directory, Group Policy, and Intune policies Provide Tier 2 technical support across all district buildings Leads and/or supports IT initiatives Assist in managing our Google Suite Environment Provide additional technical training to Level 1 technicians as required Assist schools with advanced audio/video setups and configurations Assist with documentation upkeep of the Minooka 201 infrastructure Provides tier 1 support for a building when tier 1 technician is absent from work Work collaboratively with the entire Technology Department to solve complex issues or complete projects Perform other such duties as assigned by the Network Manager or Director of I.T. |

Strong understanding of core networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching, and wireless network technologies. Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools. Understanding of virtualization concepts Demonstrated knowledge of Windows desktop support Demonstrated knowledge of mass imaging or configuration of computers Strong understanding of the Google Apps Suite Ability to solve problems independently or work cooperatively in a team Strong written and verbal communication skills Willingness to learn a scripting language such as Python or PowerShell to automate tasks Willingness to learn Windows Server and Linux administration Desire to identify and make improvements to the Minooka 201 network infrastructure and IT operations Willingness to share knowledge and contribute to a positive team environment Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning |
