The Joliet Junior College Foundation has announced more than $66,000 in funds raised during its 2018 Sponsorship Campaign.
The campaign covered three signature events; The Night of Stars and Athletic Golf Outing over the summer, and most recent Haunted 5K Run/Walk, which combined to raise $66,400.
The Foundation is thankful to its gold and silver community sponsors in reaching this year’s total: Citgo, ExxonMobil Corporation, Kluber Architects + Engineers, Martin Whalen Office Solutions, Northern Trust, Oneok, Pinnacle Flooring Company, Rathbun, Cservenyak, & Kozol, Ruettiger, Tonelli & Associates, Sentinel Technologies, and John & Theresa Weitendorf Jr.
“Sponsors are vital to the success of our signature events,” said Amanda Quinn, assistant director of institutional advancement. “They not only promote their own business as having their mission align with ours, they truly impact the lives of our students by funding much needed scholarships and supporting athletics at the college.”
The sponsorship campaign kicked off with the inaugural Night of Stars on May 10, which celebrated the humanitarian work of JJC alumni and community members. Roughly 120 golfers came out on July 13 for the Annual Golf Outing at Inwood Golf Course. On Oct. 21, the college hosted its fifth annual Haunted 5K Run/Walk, with over 350 people participating in the 5K and 1-mile Kids Monster Dash.
