Fall 2019 Connections Magazine Spotlights Philanthropic Impact to JJC

The Fall 2019 Connections Magazine, a biannual publication prepared by the Joliet Junior College Communications and Marketing Division and the Institutional Advancement Office, is now available online. Print copies will soon be distributed throughout the community.

Connections fall 2019 cover

Our cover story highlights the 45-year history of the JJC Foundation, which thanks to generous donations has grown its assets to more than $25 million, the largest of any Illinois community college. Read about the individuals who helped launch and have elevated the foundation to where it is today; a premiere organization that is assisting students to the tune of $700,000 plus in annual scholarships.

You’ll also read about a nursing student who, by the time he started at JJC, was already one year into his associate degree. He graduated from JJC one year after earning his high school diploma. Our From the Archives segment takes a look back on how JJC’s Romeoville Campus got its start, plus learn how two academic programs teamed to assist the dog of a local couple who was missing his hind paws. In addition, we present the college's new vision and mission statements, and six goals associated with the 2020-2023 Strategic Plan.

Magazines will be mailed to roughly 25,000 donors, alumni, community organizations, elected officials, and community leaders. The Communications and Marketing Division will have limited print copies available for those interested.
