American Red Cross Blood Drive
The Joliet Junior College Faculty Union has awarded $7,200 in scholarships to assist local students.
Gifts as high as $700 were awarded to 12 students who are attending JJC, a four-year school, or are transferring from JJC to a four-year school.
"We are always pleased to lend a helping hand to local students through our scholarships,” said Bob Marcink, president of the JJC Fulltime Faculty Union. “We believe education and re-education are the keys to preparing students to be successful in a rapidly changing world, and any small part we can play in that success is gratifying to all of us."
The union has been awarding scholarships annually since 1996. This year’s recipients included the following:
