Empty Bowls Project

Empty Bowls is an international project to fight hunger, personalized by artists and art organizations on a community level. 

At Joliet Junior College, Empty Bowls is a collaborative project where community members can come together to share a meal and support students facing food insecurities.

Your donation of $15 will provide you the opportunity to pick a beautiful handmade bowl, as well as a simple meal of soup, bread, and drink. Registration opens Monday, March 10.

There are two dates and locations to choose from:

  • Luncheon Date: Tuesday, April 15, 2025
  • Event Time:  11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
  • Location:  City Center: Thrive Restaurant

or

  • Luncheon Date: Thursday, April 17, 2025
  • Event Time: 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
  • Location: Main Campus: Cafeteria (A-Building)

All proceeds go to JJC students for food insecurities through the JJC Micro Pantry and the Student Emergency Fund.

JJC potters, including JJC students and employees, have donated their time to make bowls and to make this event possible! Any JJC community member can participate in this event by volunteering to serve soup, making a general donation or simply joining us for lunch!
