The Fall 2018 Connections Magazine, prepared by the Joliet Junior College Communications and Marketing Division and Advancement Office, is now available for online viewing.
In this issue, we explore a professor’s generational impact, how the college is solving the Asian carp problem, research into how vibrations occur, and more. You’re invited to learn how JJC employees and students are influencing other people and industry within the college and beyond.
Our cover story introduces you to the Albrecht family, from Gilman, Ill. Jim, his two sons David and Rob, and grandson Dan, all had the extraordinary opportunity to learn from the same JJC instructor, Bill Johnson. The agriculture professor, who died in May at age 73, was serving his 50th year at the college. Johnson left a legacy that has undoubtedly touched many lives.
This issue also explores new undergraduate research opportunities for JJC students, including how the college has partnered with the United States Geological Survey to solve the Asian carp problem, and a study into how vibrations occur. Additionally, read about the college’s inaugural Night of Stars celebration to honor the humanitarian work of our alumni and community members, and explore a pictorial history of JJC’s social spaces.
Connections is a biannual magazine and is produced by the Communications and Marketing Division and Advancement Office. Print copies are mailed to roughly 25,000 donors, alumni, community organizations, elected officials, and community leaders. Limited print copies are available on campus for those interested.
