Earn college credit in high school

Dual credit is a great way for high school students to start building up college credit WHILE still in high school! Select courses at your school may qualify for dual credit at JJC. Once you've completed these courses, they will count toward your college degree and high school graduation requirements as well. 

 

Benefits of Dual Credit

  • You’re now a JJC student! You can get a JJC student ID card at the Main Campus Photo ID Services or the Romeoville Campus Resource Center. Your JJC student ID is also your JJC library card, gives you access to several on-campus computer labs, and some local business discounts as well. Your ID card is also accepted at JJC Testing Services, the iCampus Testing Center, food services, and the Bookstore.
  • Reduces overall college costs. JJC dual credit courses are offered at $12 per credit hour.
  • Complete your college degree in less time. Since you got a jumpstart on earning college credit, you'll be able to earn your degree in less time than the average student. 
  • A smooth transition from high school to college. Dual credit courses help prepare students by offering them college-level work, so they know what to expect .
  • Convenience. Students will be taking JJC dual credit courses during their high school daytime schedule.
  • College courses that will transfer. Students will get a JJC grade when they finish a dual credit course. To learn more about transferring college credits, please refer to itransfer.org.

How to Apply to be a JJC Dual Credit Student

To enroll in dual credit classes, you will need to fill out a dual credit application by clicking the link below. NOTE: Undocumented students should call Admissions for a temporary SSN to be used in completing the application.

  2. Upon acceptance into Joliet Junior College (JJC), JJC will send an email to the personal email address you provided in your application, containing your JJC new student information. Refer to the New Account Setup page for instructions on ID lookup and password setting.
