The Joliet Junior College Fine Arts Department announces auditions for its third show of the 2020-202 theatre season, Good Fortune: A Cautionary Tale. This original drama is based on a story and concept by JJC theatre faculty member Brian Fruits while the script is written by Andrew Pederson. Good Fortune will be directed by Brian Fruits with Julie Giampaolo serving as designer coordinator and collaborating faculty member.
All auditions, rehearsals, and performances will take place via Zoom, with some aspects being filmed and/or pre-recorded. There will be no rehearsals held in person or on-campus.
There are 6-10 roles available. We are seeking an ensemble of versatile performers with interest in virtual performance, who feel comfortable broadcasting from their own living space. JJC can provide technology such as web cams, microphones, internet hot spots, etc. to cast members in need. No experience in Zoom acting is needed. These auditions are open to Joliet Junior College students as well as community members. Please note that we will not be sharing these recorded auditions nor archiving them.
Synopsis: While the pandemic has gotten worse, Tarin spends her last $150 to be "certified" online as a fortune teller specializing as a "Finder,” conducting online appointments with people trying to locate people or items. Soon, desperate parents are clamoring for her guidance. One by one she makes up stories, one by one, the missing children are found. She wonders if she really does have a gift...
